The Russian Frontier Guard Band is one of the best orchestras in the country. In the course of its history, it has been managed by such well-known conductors as F.Nikolaevsky, V.Runov, V.Revelev, E.Mazin.
The Orchestra regularly participates in national events and holidays attended by the President of Russia, leaders of the Federal Frontier Guard of Russia, members of the government and Russian Parliament. In addition, it frequently holds concerts and performs for Frontier guards.
During its expansive 50-year history, the Orchestra has been on tour and has given concerts at all frontiers of Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. It has also been on tour of the USA, Germany, Austria, Poland, Norway and Denmark.
The Orchestra boasts of an extremely varied repertoire of music. Its very high level of professional musicianship has allowed it to perform a wide range of music from classical pieces to folk and pop. Its high standards of excellence have repeatedly been recognized at its performance at military ceremonies.
The Orchestra is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Moscow Government, and various organizations and unions. It performs with soloists from the best theaters of the country: Bolshoi Theater, the Music Theatre of the name of Stanislavsky and Nemirovitch-Danchenko, the Operetta Theater and others.
In 1992, the well-respected and famed conductor E.Svetlanov selected the Russian Frontier Guard Band over many rival wind orchestras to record the 19th Symphony of Myaskovsky for the "Anthology of Russian Music".
It is worth mentioning that the Orchestra has a spectacular marching band performance, which consists of movements and reorganizations of the musicians to popular music from around the world.
The audience always delightfully attends its performances on streets, squares, large concert auditoriums and international festivals of military orchestras.
